Y2Linux 1.0 Beta 9.2.2: a status bar in every skin, finer brightness. Linux 6.18 and the native Reborn music player for the Innioasis Y2.

What's new
- Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, charging and computer icons in every skin (#70, #73). Skins showed only the battery and the clock; all 16 now show the same icons as the standard look, in their own colours.
- AM and PM (#72) where the time zone reads a 12-hour clock. Skins can also show the short date (
{date}). - Finer brightness (#74): Select on Brightness in Settings → Display, then turn the wheel — 5 % steps from 5 % (darker than before) to 100 %. Select or Back ends.
- Fast scroll (#64): a quick, steady turn now moves row by row; the letter jumps start only when you really spin the wheel.
- Equalizer files with up to 20 filters (#76), up from 10.
- Sleep with SD cards that ignore the "power is going off" notice. One player's card never answered it, so the player would not sleep at all with that card in. Now the card's cache is written first and the card is put to sleep the way cards without this notice always were (the stock firmware never sent it). A device that refuses to sleep no longer blocks sleep until the next update; the player tries again two minutes later.
- Fix releases after 9.2 are numbered 9.2.1, 9.2.2 and so on; 9.2.1 was a test build and is included here.
Tested on the developer's player: installed over the air from Beta 9.2 and confirmed by the player itself; all services and Reborn running, health OK, the music player ready 37 s after the restart, every skin carries the new icons. Every skin was drawn on the computer in all its screens, its title bar checked with all icons on and with a 12-hour clock. The SD-card fix could only be tested with new tests and the reporter's evidence (no other card shows the problem). Before release: the platform's full check, Reborn's workspace tests and the tests of the release images.
What changed and why, in plain words: Beta 9.2.2 report. Everything from Beta 9.2 is included (Beta 9.2 report).
Install (from stock)
You need SP Flash Tool v5.2032, a USB cable, Y2Linux-1.0.0-beta.9.2.2-first-install.zip below and the Innioasis Y2 firmware package v3.2.0 from Innioasis (only this version works; it is also your way back to stock).
- Unpack both.
- SP Flash Tool → Download Only → load
MT6582_Android_scatter.txtfrom the Y2Linux zip. Exactly BOOTIMG, RECOVERY, ANDROID and USRDATA are ticked. - Click Download and connect the switched-off Y2; wait for the green tick.
- Unplug and press Power: the player sets up its Internal Storage (a few seconds), then Y2Linux and Reborn start, music works.
- Connect the Y2 to the computer and copy (don't move)
system.imgfrom the Innioasis package into the Firmware folder on Internal Storage. The player takes the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth firmware from it and turns the radios on.

Known issues (beta)
- Everything listed for Beta 9.0 still applies. If anything behaves differently from 9.2, send an error report (Settings → Diagnostics); Settings → Diagnostics → Restore Previous System goes back to the version you had, with your data kept.
- Battery life in sleep: about 2 mA overnight on the developer's player (estimated from the battery voltage); stock is about 1.3 mA.
- Big Type cuts long screen titles a little earlier now that its title bar holds the icons.
- Some players turned off by themselves during playback; the cause is not found yet. If yours does, start it again and send a report.
- The speaker uses the same volume as the headphones; its loudest step is the stock speaker's. Start low the first time.
- BBC radio stations stream only in HLS, which the player does not play yet. FM radio is in the works for a later beta.
