Y2Linux 1.0 Beta 4: internet radio. Linux 6.18 and the native Reborn music player for the Innioasis Y2.
Already running Y2Linux
Settings → About & Updates → Check for Updates → Download Update → Restart and Install.
What's new: Radio
Home → Radio (needs Wi-Fi):
- Popular, Countries, Genres and Search from the free community directory radio-browser.info, tens of thousands of stations. Search uses the wheel keyboard.
- Favorites: hold Select on a station, or on Now Playing, and choose Add to Favorites. They are kept across restarts and updates.
- My Stations: copy your own
.m3uor.plsstation lists into a folder namedRadioon Internal Storage or the SD card. - Now Playing shows LIVE RADIO, the song the station announces, and how the connection is doing; a short Wi-Fi drop reconnects by itself.
- MP3, AAC and Ogg streams. Stations that only offer HLS/DASH streams are not supported yet and are left out of the lists.
- Under the hood, the music decoder still never touches the network: the player's own download tool receives the stream (with certificate checks) and hands over plain audio.
Install (from stock)
You need SP Flash Tool v5.2032, a USB cable, Y2Linux-1.0.0-beta.4-first-install.zip below and the Innioasis Y2 firmware package v3.2.0 from Innioasis (also your way back to stock).
- Unpack both.
- SP Flash Tool → Download Only → load
MT6582_Android_scatter.txtfrom the Y2Linux zip. Exactly BOOTIMG, RECOVERY, ANDROID and USRDATA are ticked. - Click Download and connect the switched-off Y2; wait for the green tick.
- Unplug and press Power: Y2Linux and Reborn start, music works.
- Connect the Y2 to the computer and copy (don't move)
system.imgfrom the Innioasis package onto the Firmware drive. The player takes the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth firmware from it and turns the radios on.

Known issues (beta)
- Internet radio was built and tested on the computer, including real stations; this is its first release on the player.
- Streaming keeps Wi-Fi busy: battery use is higher than for local music, and Bluetooth headphones may drop out more often while streaming (Wi-Fi and Bluetooth share one antenna on the Y2).
- FM radio is planned for the next beta.
- Battery life in sleep is not yet stock-like (about 9 mA vs stock 1.3 mA).
- The player cannot detect wired headphones yet. Tested on one hardware revision and one player.
