Y2Linux 1.0 Beta 5.1: live search and a new Radio. Linux 6.18 and the native Reborn music player for the Innioasis Y2.
Already running Y2Linux
Settings → About & Updates → Check for Updates → Download Update → Restart and Install.
What's new
- Live search: Home → Search shows artists, albums and songs while you type. Press Back on the top row of keys to jump into the results, Select to open or play one. Search is also much faster on big libraries.
- Radio, its own section:
- Station logos in every list and as the picture on Now Playing (downloaded once over Wi-Fi, then kept on the player). Stations without a logo get a tile with their initials.
- On Air card on the Radio page with the song that's playing; a red LIVE badge on the station you're listening to.
- Station Info (hold Select on a station): country, language, genres, format, votes and homepage.
- Sorted A–Z, with each country's (and genre's) top 10 most listened stations on top.
- Previous / Next while a station plays switch to the next station in the list.
- Now Playing shows the song as title and artist, with the station below.
- Fix: song counts of 1,000 and more no longer show a broken character on the Home screen.
Everything from Beta 5 (the button keyboard) and Beta 4 (internet radio) is included.
Install (from stock)
You need SP Flash Tool v5.2032, a USB cable, Y2Linux-1.0.0-beta.5.1-first-install.zip below and the Innioasis Y2 firmware package v3.2.0 from Innioasis (also your way back to stock).
- Unpack both.
- SP Flash Tool → Download Only → load
MT6582_Android_scatter.txtfrom the Y2Linux zip. Exactly BOOTIMG, RECOVERY, ANDROID and USRDATA are ticked. - Click Download and connect the switched-off Y2; wait for the green tick.
- Unplug and press Power: Y2Linux and Reborn start, music works.
- Connect the Y2 to the computer and copy (don't move)
system.imgfrom the Innioasis package onto the Firmware drive. The player takes the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth firmware from it and turns the radios on.

Known issues (beta)
- Live search and the new Radio were built and checked on the computer (including real station logos); this is their first release on the player.
- Some stations publish logos in formats the player can't show (SVG, GIF); those get an initials tile.
- Streaming radio keeps Wi-Fi busy: battery use is higher than for local music, and Bluetooth headphones may drop out more often while streaming.
- FM radio is planned for the next beta.
- Battery life in sleep is not yet stock-like (about 9 mA vs stock 1.3 mA). The player cannot detect wired headphones yet.
