Y2Linux 1.0 Beta 7.2: everything moves, smoothly. Linux 6.18 and the native Reborn music player for the Innioasis Y2.
Already running Y2Linux
Settings → About & Updates → Check for Updates → Update Now (Beta 7.1 and later; on Beta 7: Download Update → Restart and Install).
New: motion at 60 frames per second
- The playing song as a wave. The progress bar waves while music plays — not a perfect sine: it breathes and wanders a little — and lies flat when you pause. The position moves on smoothly instead of once a second.
- Gliding focus and smooth scrolling. The highlight glides to the next row and lists scroll smoothly; fast scrolling stays instant.
- Screens slide in from the right and back out when you go back.
- Menus rise from the bottom, messages and dialogs fade in, switches slide.
- Now Playing: a new song fades in; the play button gives a little press when you play or pause.
Motion only runs while something moves; at rest the player draws nothing, and nothing animates with the screen off. Skins keep their own look (screens slide there too).
Everything from Beta 7.1 (one-step updates, the computer screen, automatic time zone) is included.
Install (from stock)
You need SP Flash Tool v5.2032, a USB cable, Y2Linux-1.0.0-beta.7.2-first-install.zip below and the Innioasis Y2 firmware package v3.2.0 from Innioasis (also your way back to stock).
- Unpack both.
- SP Flash Tool → Download Only → load
MT6582_Android_scatter.txtfrom the Y2Linux zip. Exactly BOOTIMG, RECOVERY, ANDROID and USRDATA are ticked. - Click Download and connect the switched-off Y2; wait for the green tick.
- Unplug and press Power: Y2Linux and Reborn start, music works.
- Connect the Y2 to the computer and copy (don't move)
system.imgfrom the Innioasis package onto the Firmware drive. The player takes the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth firmware from it and turns the radios on.

Known issues (beta)
- The motion was built and checked on the computer; its frame rate on the player is measured with this release.
- Now Playing redraws continuously while music plays and the screen is on (for the wave), which uses a little more battery until the screen turns off.
- The 12- or 24-hour clock follows the time zone; there is no switch yet.
- FM radio is planned for the next beta.
- Battery life in sleep is not yet stock-like (about 8 mA vs stock 1.3 mA). The player cannot detect wired headphones yet.
