Y2Linux 1.0 Beta 7.10: reliable USB file transfers. Linux 6.18 and the native Reborn music player for the Innioasis Y2.
Already running Y2Linux
Settings → About & Updates → Check for Updates → Update Now.
Fixed: copying, moving and deleting over USB
- No more freeze while copying, browsing or deleting files over USB. A transfer that happened to end exactly on a 512-byte USB packet could crash the player's USB driver, so the player stopped responding until it was force-restarted. Fixed in the kernel.
- Moving and copying files on the player now works from Windows Explorer (cut/paste and copy between folders, between Internal Storage and the SD card) and from libmtp-based apps on Linux and macOS. Each file is copied safely (enough space is checked first, nothing is overwritten, a move only removes the original after the complete copy).
- Renaming and deleting (also whole folders) keep working as before.
The automatic Internal Storage from Beta 7.9 is confirmed on a real player: the old files were kept exactly (checked byte for byte) and the new storage matches the original layout.
Everything from Beta 7.9 (Internal Storage on every player, radio firmware and SD card fixes) and earlier is included.
Install (from stock)
You need SP Flash Tool v5.2032, a USB cable, Y2Linux-1.0.0-beta.7.10-first-install.zip below and the Innioasis Y2 firmware package v3.2.0 from Innioasis (also your way back to stock).
- Unpack both.
- SP Flash Tool → Download Only → load
MT6582_Android_scatter.txtfrom the Y2Linux zip. Exactly BOOTIMG, RECOVERY, ANDROID and USRDATA are ticked. - Click Download and connect the switched-off Y2; wait for the green tick.
- Unplug and press Power: the player sets up its Internal Storage (a few seconds), then Y2Linux and Reborn start, music works.
- Connect the Y2 to the computer and copy (don't move)
system.imgfrom the Innioasis package into the Firmware folder on Internal Storage. The player takes the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth firmware from it and turns the radios on.

Known issues (beta)
- Copying a very large file or folder within the player can take longer than some computers wait for; the copy then still finishes on the player.
- The 12- or 24-hour clock follows the time zone; there is no switch yet.
- FM radio is in the works for a later beta.
- Battery life in sleep is not yet stock-like (about 8 mA vs stock 1.3 mA). The player cannot detect wired headphones yet.
