What 240p and 360p mean
Resolution labels describe the display layout and theme format that the build uses. A 240p theme is designed for 320×240 builds, while a 360p theme is designed for 480×360 builds.
How to choose
- Pick the build resolution that matches the themes you want to use.
- If you want the widest library of classic Rockbox themes, 240p builds have the broadest compatibility.
- If you want sharper text and newer Y1-specific themes, choose a 360p build.
Frequently asked questions
Can installing the wrong resolution harm my player?
No. Both are safe for the hardware; you just need themes that match the build resolution you installed.
Can I switch between 240p and 360p later?
Yes. Just select the other build in Updater CE and install it.
