Use FM radio (and why it needs wired headphones)
FM radio uses the headphone cable as its antenna. Plug in a pair, scan once, then save the stations you like.
- Plug wired headphones or a 3.5 mm cable into the player. Without a cable, reception will be poor or absent.
- Open the FM Radio app.
- Start the automatic scan. It stops on the strongest stations and numbers them.
- Use the wheel or the on-screen controls to move between stations, and save the ones you want to keep.
Radio quality depends on where you are. Move away from metal desks, chargers and thick walls before deciding a station is unavailable. On the Android players you can also drag the dial by hand.
