Put music, audiobooks and video on your player
Your player behaves like a USB drive with a screen. Copy files into the right folder and it finds them.
Connect the player with a USB data cable. It appears in Finder or File Explorer as a device, sometimes called MTP. If nothing appears, try another cable first: many USB cables are charge-only.
Windows
- Plug the player in and unlock its screen.
- Open File Explorer and look under This PC.
- Open the player, then its internal storage or microSD card.
- Copy your music into
Music, audiobooks intoAudiobooks, video intoVideo, and photos intoPictures. Creating the folder if it is missing is fine. - Eject the player before unplugging it.
macOS
macOS does not speak MTP on its own. Install a small helper such as OpenMTP, open it, connect the player, and copy files into the folders above. Music that lives in the Apple Music library must be exported first; a protected library file will not play anywhere else.
microSD cards
Players with a card slot accept microSD cards up to the size printed in the manual, and most current models accept 512 GB or more. The card appears as a second storage location. Files on the card survive a factory reset; files in internal storage do not.
Tip: keep filenames simple and put each album in its own folder. The music app groups by the tags inside the files, but a tidy folder tree makes browsing by folder much nicer.
Your model's manual
These steps are shared by the players. The model page adds the controls and settings that are specific to yours.
